Jack has experience in dealing with patents across a variety of technical areas including aerospace, mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing. His experience includes patent drafting, prosecution, Freedom to Operate (FTO) risk management including analysing and monitoring of competitors’ patent portfolios, FTO searches, and taking mitigating actions, such as filing Third-Party Observations and European Patent Office oppositions.

Jack has spent over two years on part-time secondment to an aerospace company. Jack’s secondment work has involved development of the company's IP strategy and processes, invention mining, and patent portfolio management.

Jack is a chartered engineer with an aerospace engineering background having worked in a variety of roles for Rolls-Royce plc including as a research engineer developing repair schemes for their composite fan containment cases.

Jack has experience of composite manufacture through his Engineering Doctorate. Jack also has a broad technical background, having a first class master’s degree in Integrated Engineering, which covered electrical, electronic, mechanical and manufacturing engineering. Jack’s work related to Inertial Confinement Fusion fuel shell production has been published in the Scientific Reports journal.
