The Opportunity This is a senior role within the Finance function, ideal for an experienced finance professional ready to take ownership of UK financial reporting. Working with the Head of Finance (HoF), you will oversee all aspects of the UK and parts of the consolidated group management accounts, budgeting, and audit delivery, while driving process improvements and supporting finance transformation projects. You will combine strong technical skills with commercial awareness, providing accurate, insightful financial information to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Reporting Management Accounts - Own the end-to-end UK management accounts process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and robust controls. - Assist the HoF in preparing Group consolidated management accounts each month, including intercompany eliminations, adjustments, and reconciliations across multiple entities. - Review and post key journals (accruals, prepayments, payroll, intercompany, etc.) and maintain balance sheet integrity. - Liaise with the Accounts Payable team on invoice postings, reconciliations, and bank reconciliations. - Assist the HoF in delivering monthly practice group performance reports. - Produce and distribute monthly support function reports, providing variance analysis and commentary for function heads. - Maintain strong financial control, ensuring reconciliations and review processes are in place across all entities. 2. Audit Tax Compliance - Work with the HoF on the UK statutory audit process from planning through completion, coordinating deliverables across the team and with external auditors. - Support the preparation and review of Group audit files and consolidation schedules. - Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. 3. Budgeting Forecasting - Assist the HoF in the annual budgeting process, leading the process for support functions and partnering with department heads to set accurate and achievable budgets. - Support the HoF in preparing firmwide forecasts, reforecasts, and scenario analyses. - Monitor performance against budget and identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency. 4. Systems Process Improvement - Support the exploration, evaluation, and integration of AI tools and systems into the finance team’s operations to automate processes, enhance data analysis, and improve overall productivity. - Ensure finance processes are efficient, well-controlled, and documented, supporting continuous improvement. - Implement and refine processes to curate the data underpinning our finance systems, ensuring its quality, consistency, and accessibility (for users both within and outside Finance) as the foundation for all financial operations and reporting. 5. Stakeholder Engagement - Act as a trusted finance partner to practice group leaders and support function heads, providing clear and actionable financial insight. - Collaborate across the business to enhance financial understanding and accountability. - Support the HoF in preparing management reports and analysis as required.
