Aaron Lam

Aaron is a specialist in software patents with extensive patent prosecution and drafting experience on inventions involving AI and machine learning. He also has experience advising clients on contentious matters, including opposition and appeal proceedings for multinational medical device companies, filing third-party observations at the UKIPO, WIPO, and USPTO, and conducting freedom to operate, patent infringement, and patent validity analysis for key client products.

Aaron holds a first class bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering and a distinction master’s degree in Computing Science from Imperial College London. During his master’s degree, Aaron contributed to a blockchain-based project, developing a de-fi aggregator of cryptocurrency pools for liquidity providers. His dissertation involved creating an interactive application using OpenGL graphics to visualise electron transport through organic molecules.

Having lived in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, Amsterdam, London, and Toronto, Aaron brings a global perspective to his work. He is a native English speaker, fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese, and proficient in Japanese.
