George James

George is a biotech specialist with a particular focus on nucleic acid therapeutics, including antisense oligonucleotides, siRNAs, mRNAs and gene-editing tools, as well as lipid nanoparticles and adeno-associated virus vectors.

George has experience of global patent prosecution and has worked on a number of due diligence and freedom-to-operate projects for large biopharmaceutical companies. He has also been involved in both EPO opposition and appeal proceedings involving multiple parties.

George obtained a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry with First Class Honors from University College London. For his Master’s project, George helped build and optimise a fully operational single plane illumination microscope and investigated the volumetric aspects of cell competition. During his studies, George interned at the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences where he researched the causes of cell traits, namely size control.
