Daisy joined EIP after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. In her fourth year, she specialised in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, focusing on Nuclear, Particle Physics and Complex Analysis. Her final year project involved constructing quantum potentials corresponding to specific number sequences, such as the prime numbers. These quantum potentials were then used to implement an integer factorisation algorithm. For this work, she was awarded a prize for the best final year project. Additionally, Daisy completed a summer internship in the Centre for Designer Quantum Materials at St Andrews, where she explored a novel in-situ exfoliation method for fabricating 2D materials and characterised these materials using several imaging techniques.
