EIP expands life sciences practice group

Patent and trademark attorneys EIP continue to strengthen their life sciences practice group with the appointment of an experienced attorney.

Vince Price holds a key role in the EIP Life practice group, and has many years of experience in patent drafting, prosecution, opposition and appeal proceedings.

After a PhD at the University of Sheffield and postdoctoral research at Oxford University, he joined the UK Intellectual Property Office as an Examiner in 1990, specialising in biotechnology. He went on to qualify as a Chartered and European Patent Attorney in 1995, becoming a Partner in a major UK firm in 1997 and since 2000 running Price & Co, a boutique practice specialising in biotechnology.

Vince joined EIP in June wishing to complement his specialised expertise with the technical and professional resources of a leading IP practice.  He provides patent services in the life sciences sector, particularly in the fields of molecular genetics, molecular and cell biology, recombinant DNA technology, immunology, microbiology, biochemistry, phytochemistry, pharmaceuticals, drug discovery and medical devices.  Much of his practice involves close cooperation with overseas colleagues representing clients at the European Patent Office, including oppositions and appeals.

Partner Andrew Sharples, head of the EIP Life practice group, said: “I am delighted to welcome Vince Price to EIP. His undoubted experience will be an asset to EIP Life, and the high regard in which he is held confirms EIP’s commitment to providing a high quality service to the life sciences sector.”
