Senior Associate Matthew Blaseby has had an article published by US journal Intellectual Property Counselor.

His five-page article entitled ‘Fighting Counterfeits on the European Frontline’ is the leading article in the August 2011 issue. Matthew discusses the customs procedure for enforcing IP rights at national borders within the European Union, using a recent action by LG Electronics, Inc against Sony in relation to the Playstation 3 console as an example.

Matthew also explores the situation regarding EU customs and enforcing IP rights where goods are in “external transit”, in light of a recent opinion from the Court of Justice of the European Union.
