Two partners from EIP will be guest speakers at a Cardiff Medicentre Breakfast Briefing on 4 October.

Andy Sharples and Chris Price will present a case study entitled ‘Managing Intellectual Property from Start-up to Exit’ to tenants at one of the regular events held at the South Wales business facility. Cardiff Medicentre is a business incubator for biotech and medtech start-ups.

The presentation centres on a fictional company, Insulong, founded to commercially develop a modified version of insulin, which was developed initially by a university professor.

Topics to be covered include various intellectual property considerations a company such as Insulong would need to have, including due diligence, IP rights including patents, SPCs, know-how, trademarks and designs, effective IP strategy, and licensing, until the point where Insulong is acquired.
