About the Role

As a Patent Assistant / Patent Paralegal, you will work alongside U.S. patent attorneys and U.S. registered agents to drive the progress of client patent portfolios, contributing to our Denver‑based U.S. practice while collaborating closely with colleagues across EIP’s international offices.

You will take ownership of defined aspects of U.S. and international patent work, applying your knowledge of patent procedure to manage matters proactively, ensuring deadlines are met, and keeping portfolios moving efficiently. You will be expected to maintain a strong understanding of EIP, its operations, and key personnel, and to work as a trusted part of the wider team, anticipating needs, managing processes end‑to‑end, and contributing to the smooth and successful prosecution and management of client portfolios.

  • Strong attention to detail and a highly organised working style
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and patent‑specific software tools
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines
  • Confidence working independently while collaborating with multiple attorneys
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using patent docketing databases and patent document‑management systems
  • IP paralegal certification or formal IP training (advantageous but not required)
