Trainee Patent Attorney - Electro-Mechanical - Leeds | Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid | Start date: September 2027

We are looking for a trainee patent attorney to join our Leeds team and focus on electro-mechanical inventions and innovation. The role will include hands-on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact. You will have the opportunity to work across robotics, automation, control systems and connected devices, with scope to move into medical devices and clean technologies. This is hands-on, high-impact work for market-leading engineering clients. September 2027 is our standard start date, but we're happy to consider candidates who are ready to join us earlier - get in touch and we'll talk it through.

About you

• Academic degree in physics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical or electronic engineering, or a closely related discipline
• PhD welcome, but not essential - expertise and capability matter most
• Curious, analytical, and excited by challenging technology
• Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
• Meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently
• Motivated to develop your networking skills and contribute to business development.
