Trainee Patent Attorney - Software/AI - Leeds | Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid | Start date: September 2027

We are looking for a trainee patent attorney to join our Leeds team and focus on software, artificial intelligence and computing inventions. The role will include hands-on work from day one with regular client and inventor contact. You will have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of machine learning, data processing and computer-implemented inventions, with scope to move into telecoms and medical technologies. This is hands-on, high-impact work for market-leading tech clients. September 2027 is our standard start date, but we're happy to consider candidates who are ready to join us earlier - get in touch and we'll talk it through.

About you

• Academic degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, artificial intelligence or a closely related discipline
• PhD welcome, but not essential - expertise and capability matter most
• Curious, analytical, and excited by challenging technology
• Excellent written and verbal English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
• Meticulous attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work independently
• Motivated to develop your networking skills and contribute to business development.
