EIP attended an event organised by the Cardiff University Innovation Network about the support being offered by the Welsh Government to innovation in Wales.

The reception was held on 16 November and included a presentation by Steve Holt of the Business Innovation department of the Welsh Government about assistance they can offer to innovative businesses; in particular an overview of the Business Innovation Programme and how it can help Welsh companies.

Case studies from Cobra UK and Concrete Canvas showed how companies were making use of this support through Business Innovation to drive R&D, and in turn bring new products to market.

The event was held the day after an announcement by Business Minister Edwina Hart of two major funding packages totalling £55million to stimulate the Welsh economy and support business growth.
