Biography

Helen Wearmouth is an Executive Paralegal at EIP, drawing on 36+ years in IP across the UK. With her background in patent formalities management at the UK IPO (for 24+ years) and her later career in private practice as a Formalities Manager and an Executive Paralegal, Helen is considered an indispensable part of the team, whose impact is felt at every level of the business. Helen brings a consistently client-focused mindset to everything she does. Her interpersonal skills, coupled with her understanding of the business and its priorities, have made her the trusted point of contact for several of our most important external clients. She has shown that paralegals can not only contribute to client service but can lead in it, delivering both efficiency and a meaningful client relationship experience.

Her expertise spans UK, European and US patent prosecution; PCT and national phase filings worldwide; Helen has worked with closely with a range of clients across all aspects of patent prosecution, collaborating closely with partner IP firms worldwide. Helen was shortlisted for in the Best Intellectual Property Paralegal Award category at the National Paralegal Awards 2025. She achieved the CIPA Certificate in Patent Administration in 2015.
