Spencer is a Registered U.S. Patent Attorney based in EIP’s office in Denver. With more than 20 years in IP, including as owner of his own practice, Spencer has gained experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in a wide range of technology areas.
With a background in electrical engineering, Spencer specialises in electronics, semiconductors, medical devices, energy production equipment, and other mechanical and electrical technologies. Spencer has worked for a variety of companies from Fortune 500 companies to individual inventors.
In addition to his patent work, Spencer has drafted and prosecuted trademark applications and has advised on trademark registrability issues.
Before Spencer started his career in law, he worked as a Project Engineer at an electrical engineering and design company in Colorado. Spencer graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, before gaining his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
