EIP have strengthened their electronics practice EIP Digital with the appointment of Neil Condon as Partner.

Neil joins EIP on 7 November from the position of Partner at RCG Jenkins where he was head of the firm’s Bristol office. Neil is the second high-level appointment to the EIP Digital group in 2011, following Adam Flint, and brings the total number of EIP Digital partners to seven.

Neil has more than 15 years of experience in IP, having spent time in both private practice and the UK patents department of Siemens.

He specialises in physics and electronics inventions and has particular experience in prosecuting telecommunications and Internet patents. Neil also has expertise in the field of engine technology, having dealt with inventions concerning engine valve control systems and fuel injectors. He has frequently represented clients in oral proceedings at the EPO, including contested proceedings before Opposition Divisions and the Boards of Appeal.

Partner Jerome Spaargaren said: “Strength in electronics and telecoms is at the core of EIP, yet it remains important to continue to grow the practice in this area by appointing experienced attorneys whose technical expertise complements our team. Neil fit this description perfectly, and his undoubted experience will be of enormous benefit to the firm and our clients.”
