The charity-corporate partnerships seminar co-hosted by EIP and Innovate Legal was a success with more than 30 delegates attending.
The seminar held on 16 March was aimed at maximising brand value in the charitable and non-profit sector, and was the first event of its kind organised by EIP.
Partner and head of EIP Brands, Alice Mastrovito, spoke about brand protection, while Garry Mills from Innovate Legal covered the topic of licensing and partnerships. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session. Speakers also included Louise Amor from English Heritage and Pooran Desai of BioRegional Development on the charities’ perspectives, and Kelvin King from BNP Paribas on brand valuation.
Alice Mastrovito said: “We had a room full of people who were very receptive to the event. People came along because they felt they needed to know more about strengthening their brand. The seminar message was that your brand is an asset and there are lots of ways of reinforcing and capitalising on it, particularly by using licensing to achieve a range of different benefits.
“Feedback from the delegates was very positive. Many were saying they had not seen an event like this and would like to be informed of anything we do in this area in future. The speakers were excellent and we benefitted from their hands-on approach.
“EIP would like to thank fellow organisers Innovate Legal for hosting the seminar, the excellent line up of speakers, and of course all our guests who contributed to a thought-provoking discussion.”
Duncan Curley, the director of co-hosts Innovate Legal, said: “We are seeing an increase in the number of companies that wish to promote their links with charities, so we were delighted to host this timely seminar on legal and brand protection with EIP.”
