Maisy is a qualified Chinese patent attorney with a technical specialism in medical technologies, biomaterials and biomechanics.
Maisy worked at a top tier UK Intellectual Property firm in Hong Kong where she gained experience in drafting and prosecuting patents worldwide, as well as providing freedom to operate opinions to clients ranging from start-ups, SMEs, universities and large multinational corporations. She also has experience in handling Chinese patent related matters.
She holds a BEng in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong. Her final year research focused on cerebral aneurysms using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling. She also holds a MSc in Management of Intellectual Property from Queen Mary University of London, where she wrote a thesis on the patentability of further medical use for substances and compositions without an active ingredient.
Prior to joining EIP, Maisy briefly worked at Stryker as a Mako robotic surgery specialist.
